This is thanks mainly to sustained investment in the latest technology and a commitment to the environment, which has resulted in Manor Concepts receiving the Best Practice Award from the Bedfordshire Environmental Training Initiative.

Ultimately it is their customers that benefit from Manor Concepts attitude. Retailers have been shocked over recent years at the costs associated with scrapping refrigerated display cabinets. At Manor Concepts this is a final and drastic solution.

The objective at Manor Concepts is to re-use as many cabinets and components as possible. The benefits are two fold – Firstly for the environment, and secondly retailers can avoid unnecessary costs.
One way in which this is achieved is by cabinet conversions. There are two ways in which Manor Concepts convert previously unwanted cabinets.

With shop floor space at a premium, retailers are constantly looking to maximise sales potential. Converting low level cabinets to full height cabinets is one way in which sales are optimised. Manor Concepts have successfully converted runs of low-level cabinets to full height cases within a week. Very few components are discarded and all new insulated components are manufactured from ODP zero material. The cost of disposal and the necessity to purchase new cabinets are avoided so retailers can invest in other areas.

The second is temperature conversion. Manor Concepts have successfully transformed cabinets to operate at Fresh Meat temperature, which were originally designed to maintain dairy products.

The benefits are clear as stores can be re-organized at a fraction of the cost and previously redundant cabinets no longer require costly disposal.
