We are proud to announce that Manor Concepts has recently passed 3rd party verification with NQA and achieved PAS2060 carbon neutral status.
Achieving PAS 2060 certification marks a significant milestone, underscoring our commitment to internationally recognised standards for carbon neutrality. As awareness of the environmental impact of operational processes continues to grow both within the industry and across the global business landscape; we are well-positioned to help clients meet their sustainability goals.
This achievement not only reinforces our leadership in sustainable practices but also strengthens our role as a premier carbon-neutral supplier of refrigerated cabinets in the UK.
We partnered with a Carbon Specialist consultancy to support with the understanding of embodied carbon and the process to certification.
“Our industry is often under fire for our environmental impact due to the refrigeration gases that we use. Unfortunately, we lack the specialism and knowledge of the carbon measuring techniques needed to support our clients and Auditel were able to offer this.” Gareth Richardson, Technical Director.
As major energy users with ambitious Net Zero timescales and goals, our retail clients rely on suppliers who align with their sustainability priorities. Not only do we support these targets but as a UK-based manufacturer, we also play a vital role in helping them to achieve their carbon-neutral credentials.
We are committed to producing environmentally sustainable cabinets through clean energy processes—playing its part in protecting the planet. We have approached this in a proactive way by implementing decarbonisation projects to reduce emissions:–
- We have made a substantial investment to expand and modernise our UK manufacturing facility, improving production efficiencies.
- We review the carbon impact at each design stage, simulating the effect of alternative products and materials.
- Installing solar panels on part of our UK manufacturing plant and switching to a clean energy tariff to reduce energy consumption.
- As part of the factory expansion we have allowed for the installation of more solar panels to the roof, further increasing our carbon savings in the future.
- We offer our employees the opportunity to purchase electric vehicles through an attractive salary sacrifice scheme, a benefit that has been widely embraced, reducing the carbon footprint of our workforce.
“We have our own commitments to produce environmentally sustainable cabinets using clean energy processes, doing whatever we can to help protect the planet.”
Gareth Richardson, Technical Director.
Whilst many of our competitors are responding to client demands with carbon analysis, we are taking the lead and are delivering accurate, high-quality emissions data for all of our products. This commitment is now embedded in our culture and as a long term company vision, reflecting on transparency and continuous improvement in our operational practices.
Our senior leadership team meet quarterly to review our carbon strategy and to cascade our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our operations and the embodied carbon in the products, right from the top of our business.
“The leadership team at Manor have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Passing this external verification and achieving the PAS2060 standard is testament to their collective focus on reducing their carbon footprint.”
David Wilshin, Carbon Specialist at Auditel
